Hello All,
My name Is Brendan, for those of you who don’t know me, my wife(Jessica) and I are the Youth Group Leaders for the Bethany Lutheran Church in Campbell River.
The reason I am writing to you all, is that your emails were in a list of people who had pre-registered for the Ski Retreat back in February. As you may remember we had to cancel the retreat due to lots of snow that week. That did not sit well with Jess and I as we felt it was unfair to all the youth who had really been looking forward to the retreat. We decided that we wanted to make up for it somehow.
Well this is it! It only took us 3 Months to figure out, but on the Weekend of Friday May.26th through to Sunday May.28th we will be having our first ever Spring Retreat. We would love to see you all there, and hope you can come. I will be attaching several files to this email including a poster for the event and the registration form. You can print off the registration form fill it out and bring it to the retreat or alternatively fill it out online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/59NR2GR (The title is messed up. Ignore it. Fill it out.)
Also a side note, on the Poster it say our Speaker is supposed to be Pastor Rogow, he will not be able to attend unfortunately , so for now our Speaker is TBD.
So what are we doing for this Weekend Event? Well let me tell you. We will be having lots of fun and games, some music and devotion time to learn about what God has to say to us. Also on Saturday, to fill the time that we usually spend up at the Mountain in Feb, we will be going to hike the beautiful Ripple Rock Trails. Then we will be going for a barbecue lunch at Miracle Beach and some beach games. Then after that we will be having an Outdoor Laser Tag session at the Miracle Beach School Yard. Followed by dinner at the Courtenay Lutheran Church, and Swimming thereafter at the Courtenay Wave Pool. Lots of fun stuff to do, so I hope you’re all excited. Also attached is a waiver for the owner of the Laser Tag Business. We just need to have the attendee, or Parent/Guardian (if the attendee is under the age on the waiver) sign and print the waiver for consent. We will have a waiver sheet at the Church to sign on May.26 for people doing registration then. Or you can print off the sheet before, sign it and hand it in with the registration form. Parents of children from out of town please sign and send this with your child.
Lastly the cost is 55$ per person, this includes all meals and snacks. The breakdown is pretty much 35$ for the Retreat and 20$ for Laser Tag. So if you don’t want to do Laser Tag you can just pay the 35$ and note on the registration form that you won’t be doing the Laser Tag. I think that’s pretty much it.
